A Sunny Start
It’s funny, I woke up this morning with a sense of fulfilment, with the sun beaming through my window. I was immediately taken back to some time in the past when I felt like this before, a form of nostalgia. De ja vu if you will, only I’m wondering now what was different from every other morning I’ve woken up from that same bed.
I got up, made myself a coffee and logged on. I just cleaned up my desktop shortcuts in a nice neat grouping fashion, and now find myself looking at the clear blue of the sky with some sort of sense of inspiration, riding on from that good feeling I had this morning. Yet with all this, something just doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe it’s that same question, ‘what should I do?’
The colours outside seem so vibrant, bright variegated greens and seemingly bright shadows, naturally lit from the beaming rays, inviting to the eye as they’re blown around in the not-so-still breeze. Why then, when brought back to myself, does everything else I try to colour myself in feel like a duller shade. Maybe I just feel flat, I guess I do. Just seems strange that in the past in this situation things would have seemed… ‘brighter’.
I guess the grass really is always greener (and brighter) on the other side… Time to go sit outside for a while.

Dungeons and Hopefully Not Disasters
I’ve recently embarked on a new adventure, and yes, it was just a good idea in the moment in which snowballed into actually happening but it’s also something I’ve wanted to do for years and just haven’t gotten around to it. I’m talking about Dungeons and Dragons!
So to start off, it’s basically what you’d call a tabletop role-playing game. It utilizes your imagination and a set of guiding rules and dice rolls to basically create a live story right in front of you. There’s absolutely opportunity for almost anything to happen, it all depends on how well you perform your action (the dice roll) and how you can twist a tale into what you want to happen. It just sounds really appealing to me, especially considering it’s a whole world you can explore and put yourself into and delve into your creative side.
The only problem is, I don’t really know many people that are into it and I, of course, want to be able to play with my friends, so I’ve taken it upon myself to organise the game myself. It does mean that I cant play as an individual character, but it means that I can coordinate the whole game, add my own twists and tales and essentially play every other character that the party will come across (the party being who I’m playing with). It has its own set of difficulties, especially as a first-time player. I’ve got to learn about the rules, races, classes and all the intricacies in a more in-depth way than the characters. But really, I don’t mind. As I said, it’s something that has appealed to me for years so now it’s my chance to take it in stride and get it going.
It really feels like it’s up to me to get everything organised, down to helping all the other people, ensuring people are having a good time (I hope), and making sure the story goes smoothly! It’s certainly going to be interesting to progress through this because I feel there are some skills in here that I can develop for myself, and also exercise my creative side a bit more. I seem to not be so creative these days and this is a great way to fill in that gap I think.
So here’s to the start of a journey, where friends can meet and have a good time and have fun together. Where their characters drink in weird taverns, battle off some goblins and eventually maybe even fight off the power of a dragon. Who knows, but here’s to whatever will come of it!
Also, welcome back!

Weekly Challenge #4 – Getting Fit For True Grit!
Weekly Challenge #4 is a biggie! It’s a long-short term goal that I’ve been inspired to set for myself and one which will test me and push me whilst having a tangible method of seeing my progress over the coming months.
I’ve decided to do the True Grit Challenge! This was my inspiring thought last week and it’s something I’ve been toying with for a couple of years now with those new years resolutions that never go anywhere. But nope I’m on a roll here and this is something that I can strive for and in the process, achieve the healthy lifestyle and fitness levels that I’m aiming for!
True Grit is a military-style obstacle course over 10-12km which is said to test your stamina and mental resolve as you go through over 30 obstacles. It says it’s over natural terrain with obstacles that require teamwork, upper and lower body strength. To me, that just sounds really cool?!
In Adelaide, it’s held on the 28th and 29th April 2018, which is quite a distance away. However, giving a perfect amount of time to get in shape! As of creating this post, it gives around 6 months. There’s a lot you can do in 6 months!

The Plan:
On the True Grit website, they have a training section of which they include intermediate and advanced. I’m going to be going through them, starting at the intermediate level and moving onwards after. Both levels are said to take 10 weeks each, taking a total of 5 months to complete. That’s really handy, isn’t it?! That gives a whole extra month to increase my endurance and strength!
The intermediate level that I’ll be starting with is hyperlinked right here if you want to check out what I’ll be following for the next 10 weeks.
I am making some changes to the actual plan as I feel that I can push myself a tiny bit further than what the plan expects. Basically, week one expects four days at rest over the full seven, which I feel is a bit too relaxed, especially as I have been more active lately.
This week, I’m tailoring the exercise to be:
Half an hour brisk walk in the morning
Adding a hill to the (3x) 1 min run/1 min walk after each walk
Some form of circuit training daily (even if just sit-ups)Through following an exercise plan I can compare and track my fitness as I gradually increase the intensity of it each week to the point of where I naturally improve and lose weight with the addition of healthy eating. I’ll be having weekly updates of progress in a separate category ‘Getting Fit’ which I’ll try and cover general stats, meals, mood and my progress toward my goal!
If you’re interested or inspired to give it a go… I say DO IT 🙂 Many people are said to participate in teams so maybe you want to get your friends to do it with you, or even tag along with me and my group I’ll be banding together. But if you’re on the fence, take the first step and every step after will be easier! There’s plenty of time, make yourself feel good 🙂

Camping Weekend – The Movie
Hey everybody!
It’s taken me quite a while to get all of the clips together from camping but I’ve had a lot of fun in the process of doing it. And finally, here it is!
P.s – I didn’t realise that having a waterproof case on the Go Pro (to protect it from me) would heavily reduce the noise so sadly I have no audio but I’ve dubbed in a little background track 🙂
I had a super great time with our last chance to get a good fire in before the fire ban.

Jordan looking majestic with his guitar Taking the Go Pro was really enjoyable and I had so much fun filming events and walks. I’m very happy to have made this video and although it may not be the best, it’s a sum up of all the good bits I enjoy about camping and the fun we had there.
We saw lizards, a line of kangaroos, had gin, cooked on the fire, collected great firewood and just kicked back in general!
So I hope you enjoy my sharing of the experience, and any criticisms of the editing would be much appreciated! Thank you 😀

Open mic with Jordan and Hayley! Sharing the happiness (Lady Jay Heron)
Hey guys!
Jordan and Hayley (Lady Jay Heron) played their first gig after months of anticipation and worrying if they were good enough – and they were great!

Hayley stage left, Jordan stage right I just wanted to share last night with you, me and my great friends went to The Gov where they performed at an open mic (it’s a good atmospheric pub just out of the CBD).
They write all their own creative material and could very well be the next up and coming Angus and Julia Stone! Their music is emotionally felt and I’m just really happy and proud of them for going up their and sharing. I really want to see them succeed and grow and I’m looking forward to hearing them perform again! So thanks guys for giving me happy feelings and keep doing all the good stuff 😀
PS – In terms of producing content it’s still very new but if you want to check out a couple of songs then go onto Jordan’s soundcloud link to hear more!

Kaiser’s beach trip
Hey guys!
I said I’d put up a video about the beach and Kaiser, my dog, earlier and here it is!
It was just a bit of fun to film somewhere I’ve been, which I never do. So if anything it was a new perspective and fun to try and get some good shots (not sure they’re award winning though.) I’ll be following up with a little bio/interview with Kaiser telling you guys all about him coming soon!
Thanks for checking it out!
